Hi all! It’s me. I’m back and I’ve got a good un for you this fine Sunday. So I recently received the Sleek advent calendar for my birthday (thanks Zed) and only just got round to opening it. Naturally, I thought I’d share my thoughts here with you guys. I hope you enjoy reading.
The advent calendar contains lots of lip pencils, eye pencils, lip creams, brushes, palettes and more. I’ve never had a beauty advent calendar before so was excited to see what goodies I’d got. So let’s get started!
Number 1. A shimmering blusher (in Rose Gold) which I was so happy with! I already have the Sleek trio blusher palette and my go to blusher is always the shimmering one from that palette, but that’s a little more pink whereas this is more coral I’d say. Either way, I’m happy with that!
Number 2. I got myself a lil brush which I was also happy with as I’d literally been applying my eyeshadow with my fingers — wait, applying and blending – as I’d somehow managed to lose all my brushes. I did manage to find my brushes yesterday but I’ll always§ welcome new brushes with open arms.
Three. A lil Matte Me lip cream in Feels. My go-to everyday lipstick is the Sleek Matte Me liquid lipstick in Birthday Suit so I’m sure the lip cream won’t disappoint!
Four. A good old bright red nail polish. I don’t really wear nail polish that much tbh, but I’m a fan of bright colours so whenever I do wanna wear some nail polish, this’d be a great one to have on hand. It’s nice and bright and is a matte nail polish.
Five. A twist up lip pencil in Deep Cherry. Honestly, the colour is a lot darker in real life and the flash must’ve lightened it up in the picture. It’s more of a darker plum and is a really nice dark colour for the winter.
Number 6. The first palette. The i-Divine Gleaming in Gold palette. It’s such a cute lil palette and has some really nice gold shades in there. I can’t wait to play around with it and see what I can do.
Number 7. A twist up eye pencil in Midnight. Your classic black eye pencil which I think I’ll be using for my lower lash line to put on some bottom liner. I mean you know when you put liquid eyeliner on the bottom and it goes everywhere, well this is a better alternative to that and an eyeliner pencil. It just glides on easily. I don’t know if it stays on as I haven’t put it on yet but for overall usefulness, Ima give this a 5 out of 5.
Number 8. Some black eyeliner. Your standard liquid liner. A classic in every makeup bag. I keep losing mine somehow, so it’s perfect timing once again.
Number 9. Another lil matte nail polish. And another nice colour, this time a little pinker.
Ten. Another twist up lip pencil in Shabby Chic. This is such a nice colour and I legit see myself wearing this. It’s just a nice pink really and I really like it.
Eleven. Another brush. Brushes are always useful, aren’t they?
Twelve. Another gorgeous mini palette in Storm. This one has a variety of shades, from green to gold to black to pink. Again I wanna see what I can do with this one as I’m gaining more of an interest in eyeshadows and want to play around and just create some looks sometime.
Thirteen. A darker red lip cream in Old Hollywood. I’ve been wanting a red lipstick for sooooo long but haven’t got round to getting myself one. So I guess that’s perfect timing you know. It is a darker one and is more of a crimson but is still a nice one nonetheless. And for winter it’s legit another of those perfect colours.
Number 14. A nail polish. I think this might be in Birthday Suit, the same colour nail polish as my everyday liquid lipstick. It’s just a nice pretty girly pink, isn’t it?
Number 15. A twist up eye pencil in Chocolate. I don’t think I’ve worn brown eyeliner before but I’m all for experimenting so am excited to play around with this one too and see what looks I can use this to create.
Number 16. A MASCARA! I literally have been meaning to get a mascara for the longest time so this was veryyyy welcome! I know I keep going on about how I wanted something and it just ended up appearing in the advent calendar but that’s legit what happened!
Number 17. Another lip cream. This one’s in Velvet Supper and is a lot darker than the picture below tbh (flash may change the look of some of these products guys, I probably should have said that at the beginning shouldn’t I…) But for real though, will I ever have to buy another lipstick again?!
Eighteen. A twist up lip pencil in Currant. The answer to the above question, my friends, is nah. I won’t. I wanna say this one’s a little red, but more of a darker red. Yet again another nice one for winter.
Nineteen. Glitter eyeliner! Another I’m really excited about as I’m planning on wearing this today as I’m off to a wedding – okay I didn’t end up wearing it in the end but I’m definitely gonna have to play with it soon. I’ve recently started obsessing over glitter eyeshadow (by recently I literally mean Friday…). Basically on Friday as it was Black Friday we were told to wear something sparkly to work. I decided to go for sparkly eyeshadow (big up the Huda Beauty Desert Dusk Palette) and since then I just want to wear more and more and moreeee glittery eyeshadow looks. And that is all.
Number 20. Another eye pencil in Aubergine. A nice Autumnal shade tbh. I haven’t worn any other shade eye pencil other than black (exciting I know), so yes, I wonder what look I’ll be able to create with this.
Twenty one. A dark crimson matte nail polish. I definitely see myself choosing this if I decide to wear nail polish one day. I mean it’s just a nice colour, isn’t it?
Twenty two. i-Divine eyeshadow palette in All Night Long. This is similar to the Gleaming in Gold palette and I wanna say it’s an extension of that palette. Like it’s not just golds, it has browns and olives and lighter shades too, but it could easily be an extension of the gold palette.
Number 23. The final twist up lip pencil in Raspberry. This one’s a very bright Barbie pink. It’s really bright and I haven’t worn a lipstick that bright for a while. Maybe it’s time for a change then isn’t it? I guess we’ll have to see!
Number 24. Matte Me lip cream in Birthday Suit. Like I said, I wear the Sleek Matte Me liquid lipstick in Birthday Suit almost every day so I’m pretty sure this’ll be a winner! You can’t go wrong with this lipstick tbh.
Number 25. And last but not least, Lip VIP Lipstick in the shade Couture. I’ve done a lil swatch of this and it’s more of a nice classic red, which is a staple for every makeup bag! And again, I’ve been looking for a red lipstick and now I’ve ended up with many!
And that’s what’s inside the Sleek advent calendar! I can’t find it online anywhere but I think it retails at £35 and my sister got this one from Boots. And according to Sleek’s Instagram you can now get it for just £17.50 until November 30th. For SEVENTEEN POUNDS AND FIFTY PENCE. Mate. Now that’s what you call a bargain. I think you should all go and pick one up before 30th November – whether that’s for yourself or as a gift it’s a great purchase and especially as it’s less than 20 quid until the end of November.
I also took some swatches and FYI I went to wash these off with hand wash and they literally didn’t budge. And I just thought you should know that. And here’s what everything looks like altogether in case you were wondering.
Which is my favourite product, I hear you ask? Well, I’m definitely a fan of the glitter eyeliner, so I might have to say that. But I’m a fan of all the products tbh, especially the lipsticks, too. Basically I’m a big fan of the advent calendar and cannot wait to try out the products and create some looks! So, yeah. I’m gonna have some fun experimenting and playing with all this stuff!
Thank you for reading! Do you have this advent calendar? What do you think of it?
Until next time,
1 Week Mary x
