Alhamdulillah I graduated. I actually did it. After all the struggles, stress & issues I had during my time at university, I got to celebrate and man it was so good alhamdulillah. I remember being so happy on my graduation day (10th July in case you were wondering) and I ended up getting a selfie with the Dean. Man. I was so nervous before walking on stage but I did the walk, got my selfie and actually graduated. Alhamdulillah.
I can honestly say there were times where I didn’t know what would happen. I had some (big) issues at my university regarding my dissertation & just other stuff – but anyway results day came around, I passed my degree and I managed to walk across the stage without falling over. I wouldn’t mind graduating again to be honest, to feel the buzz & the rush & all the adrenaline all over again. Tbh it went by so quickly (especially the walking across the stage part) that I barely remembered it until I watched videos back.
So, yeah. Now I’m officially a graduate ALHAMDULILLAH. There’s so much to be thankful for, it may not have ended up the way it did – anything could have happened & it’s all down to Allah that I managed to get my degree & enjoy my graduation. Alhamdulillah once again.
Like I said the day was a bit of a blur & I didn’t get to take all the pictures I wanted to, like the ‘throw your hat in the air’ picture with my friends but I got to throw my hat in the air & I got selfies with most of my friends so I can’t complain. And I really did enjoy it. It was such a sunny day and there may have been some panic & running around (especially when I forgot my shoes at home in Manchester) but everything worked out the way it was supposed to and now I’ll look back on that day in happiness Alhamdulillah.
I remember being so happy the days following my graduation because it was so memorable. And then I came back home to Manchester & did my graduation party with family which was also so much fun Alhamdulillah. I had an amazing cake & cupcakes thanks to my sister.
I designed the cake & as I’d studied English Literature I really really really wanted a book cake & you know what, the amazing lady that made my cake made all that come true. As for the cupcakes, they were also amazing because each one had a specific meaning, my favourite being the ‘Affect Theory’ cupcake as that’s what I did my dissertation on.
You know, if I could relive my graduation all over again, I’d love to.
Thank you for reading! Have you graduated? Or if you’re a student, are you looking forward to it?
Lots of love,
