Today’s post is a little different to my usual posts, as it’s my first ever guest post and is by the lovely Dannii from Love Dannii. She has an an amazing beauty blog, so be sure to check that out once you’ve had a read of this post. I hope you enjoy reading!
Firstly, thank you so much 1 Week Mary for giving me the opportunity to guest post on your wonderful blog!
When we discussed the chance for me to write this post, we batted a few ideas around and we were keen for it to be make up or beauty related. What better way of introducing myself than to show 1 Week Mary readers my top 3 make up products?!
I’ll start by admitting that I am an outrageously huge make up fan. I own so much of it that I seem to have more make up storage than I do wardrobe space! How do I narrow this down to just 3 products? It’s difficult, but I chose the items I would absolutely not leave my house without wearing;
Concealer – More specifically, Milani concealer. I’ve tried pretty much all the British drugstore favourites but this one is top class for a great price. Not only does it cover pesky blemishes, the formula is really thick so a little goes a long way. I also love the packaging, the sponge is really handy for not using too much and it looking cakey or creasing under the eyes. I find this particular concealer doesn’t require setting either which is great for my 30 year old / fine line / not so robust skin!
Brow Pomade – My brows are ridiculously sparse (thanks to the early 2000’s for the overplucking trend!) My absolute favourite one has to be the Make Up Revolution Brow Pomade in Graphite; not only is it the perfect shade match for what little eyebrow hair I actually have, it lasts brilliantly and doesn’t smudge at all and I actually find it really easy to apply (providing you have a good brush, this E104 one from Make Up Revolution is fabulous).
Mascara – Loreal Baby Roll Mascara. I have to be clear here, I’m talking about the non-waterproof one. The waterproof one is an absolute nightmare to remove. I mean, its staying power is so great that it would take a nuclear war to get it off, and even then you’d probably lose half your eyelashes in the process! This version is fantastic, if I didn’t know any better I would guess it was waterproof! The formula is the perfect mix; just wet enough to transfer the product making your lashes look volumous and long, yet dry enough to hold a curl without the product dragging it down again.
I hope this post has given an insight into my must-haves for a basic make up look. As I said before, I am a huge make up junkie so I generally wear a full face (contour, highlight – the works!) however I’ve tried to keep it as simple and universal as possible.
Thank you for reading!
