“I have too many makeup brushes so I guess I’ll never buy any more” – said no-one, ever.
Picture the scene. There we were in Wilkos, just shopping around for bits and bobs when we came across the reduced section. So I began to scan the shelf when I saw some brushes. And then I saw a sign – maybe I saw the sign first, my recollection is quite foggy (she said in a posh voice). So, what did the sign say, I hear you ask?
It said 1 beautiful word (not really a word) that every thrifty person/bargain hunter would love:
25p. That’s what it said.
Surely, it couldn’t be real? A makeup brush for just 25p? But how? Why? More importantly, was it true?
The brush in question was an eyebrow brush, but the bargain didn’t stop at eyebrows. Oh no, it worked it’s way down the whole face, as I then saw foundation and blusher brushes just next to the eyebrow brushes. Of course, I checked the price. This time the sign consisted of another much loved word that’s not really a word:
50p. Wait – so I could buy some brushes that were actually decent looking for just 50p? Oh, it might be because the quality’s crap. That’ll be it.
The thing is the quality actually isn’t bad. Fair enough, I only bought the brushes yesterday so haven’t yet had a chance to use them properly, but once I brought them home & checked the quality, I realised they’re actually pretty soft. And they’re so pretty too. They’re good quality makeup brushes. And they cost me £1.25 altogether.
So there you have it. I bought an eyebrow brush, blusher brush and foundation brush for £1.25 altogether. Me being me, I had to make the most of the offer and picked up double of everything so that my sister could benefit from my frugal skills, too. I mean, the grand total was only £2.50, so why not?! And if you’re quick, you might be able to pick up some of these bargain brushes from your local Wilko, too! If so, be sure to let me know.
Thank you for reading!
