As you may know, Kat Von D Beauty recently launched in the UK, exclusively at Debenhams on Oxford Street. Now, I’ve never used any Kat Von D products before, however, last week, when the Lock It foundation was recommended to me, I thought it would be the perfect time to go and check it out. From what I’d heard, the foundation has really good coverage, which is exactly what I was looking for. So off I went to Debenhams to the Kat Von D counter.

I asked if I could have a look at the Lock It foundation and the lovely Jacobi sat me down and matched me up; she tried both medium 52 and medium 53, and one was a little darker than the other. She tested the foundations, however I wasn’t sure if I should buy either yet as foundation almost ALWAYS looks different in store than it does outside in natural lighting, so I decided I’d see for myself in the natural lighting first and then come back if I wanted to get it.

I then carried on looking around and came across the Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks. Some of the colours were really pretty, however one single one stood out for me as the perfect, perfect, perfect autumnal colour and that was Exorcism.

Seriously though, just have a look:

See how gorgeous it is!

At this point Jacobi came back & asked if anyone would like to try the lip products on and I volunteered myself, of course. She applied it and immediately I loved it. It’s so so dark, and that’s the best part. She told me not to rub my lips together and I was so tempted to, but I didn’t. (Hold the applause.)

Exorcism is basically that perfect Autumn shade; I can definitely see it easily becoming my go to lipstick in the upcoming months. It’s really pigmented so one swipe will be enough. If you want to make it even darker, go ahead and apply it again. Ooh, and can we just talk about the packaging for a second? It’s – well, you can be the judge:

I know, right?! It’s gorgeous.

Once I’d bought it, I kept the lipstick on and went back to uni. I ate my dinner (custard but it counts) & the lipstick still stayed on. After around 4/5 hours the middle bit was starting to come off (probably because I’d eaten) however the rest was still on and with a little top up, it would’ve looked as good as new. Here’s what it looked like after 4/5 hours:

And that’s it for now. The only other thing I’d say is that it’ll take a looong time to take it off, but that has to be a good thing – it means it will stay on for hours. Overall, my first ever experience with Kat Von D Beauty was a success and I absolutely love my new lipstick. You can buy Exorcism here, for £16.

Have you ever tried makeup by Kat Von D before? What did you think?

  1. I have the Lock it Foundation and Primer and I do love them but I feel the foundation can be quite tempermental. I have to moisturise, prime then apply with a damp beauty blender to stop it going all cakey. Worth the extra time for the application though as it erases any blemishes 🙂

    1. Oooh really? Thank you for letting me know that, it’s nice to see what someone who actually uses the foundation thinks rather than having it recommended because it’s ‘supposed’ to be good, if that makes sense. Thank you for your comment! Xx
