LAUNCHING SECRET EVENTS UK

Last night I came across Katie’s tweet about wanting to get to know more bloggers in Manchester and I replied telling her I’d love to. I then tweeted out asking if any other bloggers would be interested in having a little meet up/blogger’s lunch in Manchester and I got quite a few replies. This got me thinking about actually hosting a blogger’s event so we could all meet up and have some fun. I was really excited and started jotting down some ideas regarding time/place/theme.

I’ve always, always wanted to plan events. There’s something about the hustle and bustle of it all that just excites me. Like, imagine putting in so much work into planning an event and then it turning out to be amazing and all your hard work paying off. Aaaah, just imagine.

So, this morning I woke up and rang some venues asking for quotes on prices. I jotted them down and started searching some ideas for blog events on Google when I came across a page that mentioned a secret garden party. Ooooh, now that sounded fun. I loved the idea that guests didn’t know what to expect, all they knew was that they were going to have fun.

Making use of the idea, I then thought about how great it could be to do a little event in Manchester where everyone would meet at a set time and place, would be picked up from there and taken to the actual event, not knowing what to expect. All of the bloggers would be in the same boat, so that would be the perfect opportunity to bond/make conversation.

And then I realised that we could actually be on to something, so I thought why not create a number of events, instead of just one? Of course, we’d start with just one event and then build up from there. We’d start off in Manchester but then we could go to different places all around the country. The fun part would be that blogger’s would only vaguely know what the event would consist of, and wouldn’t know exactly what to expect.

I’d leave bloggers guessing and give them hints and clues as to what to expect. What do you think? Would you be interested?

Of course, all bloggers are welcome. It’ll be a great chance to get to know each other and actually meet the bloggers behind those blogs we know and love.

I’m currently in the process of planning our first event, which will hopefully be in Manchester around about the 22nd September, so be sure to follow SecretEventsUK on Twitter and Instagram for exciting things coming very soon.

What do you think of the whole ‘secret’ idea? Will you be coming to any events?
