LISTEN // A POEM

Listen to the voice

oh listen to the sound

the one you hear but daily

the one you carry around

the sound you’re never rid of

the one that’s being found

the sound you only listen to

the sound you never hear

it may be one you ignore

but the sound is always near

so listen from both ears

and listen from the mind

look only to the future

and don’t even look behind;

listen to the strength it has

the comfort and the health

please listen to that sound

Oh please listen to yourself.

Are you doing what you really want to do in life? Are you listening to yourself?

  1. This is such a nice poem! I personally love short poetry that rhymes. It looks nice at first glance and I feel like I can pick up a beat from the poem πŸ™‚ I also like the imagery you used here! 10/10 would read more of your poetry tbh!

  2. Not going to lie, I’d love to print this poem and hang it on my wall – it’s incredible! It made me really stop and think about everything that’s been going on recently and makes me want to try harder than ever to listen to my inner me. Yet another fantastic post πŸ’• xx

    1. Awwwwww that’s one of the best things I’ve read all week!! Thank you so much & feel free to! I’m so glad you like it & that’s honestly so great to hear – yessss we should all listen to that inner voice as hard as we can; life’s too short to just settle for things, do what makes you happy! And thanks for your amazing comments! πŸ’ž
