Hello everyone! Here is my first make up haul – hopefully the first of many!

So, I was originally going to do a Superdrug haul, but some of the things I wanted weren’t available at Superdrug, and then I added a wholeee lot of other stuff so it made sense to do a make up haul instead. Everything in this haul was bought online (except the things from Asda) and the reason for that is literally because it was waaaaaay too cold outside.

I hope you guys enjoy reading!

#1 10pcs Kabuki Style Professional Make up Brush Set

Called 10pcs Kabuki Style Professional Make up Brush Set Foundation Blusher Face Powder on eBay

The first thing I bought was this 10 piece make up brush set for £4.90 (with free delivery) from eBay. My favourite thing about these brushes is the price. Seriously, the fact that you can get TEN great brushes for under £5 just makes me really happy. Also, they’re great brushes – exactly as described!

#2 Sleek Face Form Contour Kit Medium

sleek contour meds

This kit is £9.99 from Superdrug and was actually recommended from a friend who’s been using it for a while. She looooves it. I was originally going to buy the kit from the Superdrug website but it was out of stock and, like I said, it was absolutely freeeeezing so there was no way I was going to trek over to the nearest Superdrug, which is why I didn’t actually manage to get it. But, I will be getting it soon. Definitely. It has highlighter, bronzer and contour powder all in one and is the perfect size so you can pop it in your bag, ready to use, for when you’re on the go.

#3 Anti-Blemish Solutions Liquid Makeup from Clinique 30ml

clinique foundation

Ok, so I was running low on foundation so went ahead and bought the foundation I usually use which is this one in shade 03 and is £25.00. I’ve been wearing this foundation for just over a year now as I have a few small marks, which it covers really well. It’s also light on the skin and lasts up to 3 months if you wear it every day. However, recently the coverage hasn’t been as good as it used to be (or maybe it’s just me!) so it just may be time for a new foundation. Any thoughts?

#4 Mac Lipstick in Whirl

mac whirl

Swatch of Mac Whirl

Mac lipsticks have become so popular (over the last few years, especially) and I was looking for some nude lipsticks so I thought I’d add to my Mac collection and try out Whirl. It’s a brown lipstick that I, personally, think looks good on everyone and was £15.50 from Selfridges. I absolutely love it and can’t believe I didn’t get it sooner! It quickly became my everyday lipstick. And I mean really quickly (on the day I bought it).

fat lash mascara

To be honest, I’m not really fussy when it comes to mascara because I always curl my lashes anyway, but I was in need of a new one so literally picked up the first one I saw. I’ve used this mascara before and it’s actually really good, especially seeing as it was only £2.98 from Asda.

#6 KIKO MILANO SMART LIP PENCILS in 700 (Light Sienna) and 710 (Rouge Noir)

Left – Right: Light Sienna and Rouge Noir

Now, I didn’t actually get these lip pencils, but there is a reason that they’re mentioned, and the reason is this: they’re £1.20 each. Yes, that’s right £1.20! I’m so in need of these lip pencils especially Rouge Noir, but the minimum spend on the KIKO website is £25 which is why I didn’t buy them. I mean, I literally only want these 2 things which make a total of £2.40, so how am I going to make the other £22.60 up? I’m just going to have to pay a trip to the KIKO store because I WILL be buying them.

#7 Maybelline Color Sensational Lip Liner 140 Intense Pink

140 intense pink liner

So, there I was at Asda in the make up section, having a look around for a good lip liner. After a good 2 or 3 minutes of searching extremely thoroughly I came across this one for £3.98 and really, really, reallyyy liked the 140 (Intense Pink) one. I absolutely love the colour: it’s basically a slightly (very slightly) darker pink, doesn’t look fake and isn’t too bright, making it exactly what I was looking for. I haven’t actually used it yet, but I am looking forward to wearing it soon.

#8 COLLECTION 2000 Extreme 24 Hour Felt Tip Eyeliner 1 Black

I’ve been using this black eyeliner for a looong time now and had lost my old one, so it was time for a new one. You can get it from Superdrug, Asda, Wilkos – basically any high street store that sells make up. It was £2.98 and lasts for hours and by that I mean HOURS. I’d say it was just as good as some of the pricier liners and the fact that its shaped like a pen with the felt tip makes it soooo much easier to apply. I 100% recommend!

I also bought a couple of non-make up things, which I’ve added to the list below.

#9 Ghost Deep Night Eau de Toilette Spray 30ml

My sister got this for her 21st birthday and I loooooove it so had to buy one for myself. It’s amazing. If you’ve ever smelt Hugo Boss Deep Red before, let me tell you now they are extremely similar. I see myself wearing this a lotttt. It was £20 for 30ml from Asda and is also available in Boots and Superdrug as well as other high street stores. However, be warned as the 30ml is actually really small. I’d recommend getting the 75ml if you know you’re going to wear it often.

#10 Charlotte Crosby’s 3 Minute Belly Blitz DVD

cc fitness

Ok, I know I’m like reallyyyyyyy late in buying this as it was made in 2014, but I’ve recently gained a little weight and found it on eBay for £5.99 so thought I’d try it out. It worked really well for her, so hopefully it’ll benefit me too once I start using it! For those of you that don’t know about this DVD, it’s basically a home fitness DVD with a range of different exercises to help you lose weight.

  1. Hi, Mary! Love your blog and am following you now. I enjoyed reading about the make up but I am so inept at applying things, especially making my eyebrows match that I am all but giving up on anything more than lipstick and eyeliner. I think you have to be quite the artist to do pretty brows that match lol

    1. Hello! Thank you so much and I 100% feel you! It’s IMPOSSIBLE to have matching eyebrows (well for me anyway!). I was once told that eyebrows are supposed to be siblings not twins and I live by that now, lol! Thanks once again for reading! 🙂

  2. Hi Mary. I too love your blog and just started following. I like getting other’s ideas on makeup because with me it’s just what’s in the budget for a quick 5 minute face in the morning before I have to get to work(I like my sleep). Thanks so much for the post, can’t wait to read more!

    1. Thank you very much, I’m so glad to hear that! I’ve also checked out your blog and love it as well as your 100% positive attitude! & I completely agree, I invest in some make up and it lasts a good length of time (several months if treated with care). I also lovee my sleep, which is why I spend some days putting my makeup on on the train, oopsie! You’re welcome and I look forward to see what you think of my upcoming posts! Have a lovely week x

  3. This is what you call a haul. I especially love the makeup brushes and I’m tempted to also treat myself to MAC Whirl, or Velvet Teddy or another nude shade. I love the staying power of the MAC Lipsticks so want to build my collection (I probably won’t be able to stop once I’ve started though).

    Ami xxx

    1. Thank you so much Ami and I love them too. You should definitely get Whirl if you’re thinking about it. lool I know exactly what you mean, once you get hooked on MAC there’s no going back! Thanks for reading and for your comment, have a great week 🙂 xx

    1. They so were! & I still use them to this day, & the mac shade! Thank you for reading, I’m so glad you liked the post & so so sorry for the late reply, I must have missed your comment by accident! Xxx

  4. I have never purchased anything from Kiko before but I’ll definitely give it a try now! And Ghost is also one of my faves :)! Great post. Luv your blog! And really looking to reading more from you.
